Most Frequent Skin Care Mistakes

by Ashley Alexis

Most dissatisfied skin care patients make 3 common mistakes. They do not analyze their skin, they purchase any and every product and they take advice from people who have no knowledge about skin care.

It may sound harsh, but it is true. Let me explain.

What if I asked you your skin type? Could you give me an honest answer?

Could you say (without a doubt) that you have oily skin, dry skin or normal skin? Or your skin is sensitive or combination?

Well, most people cannot. They simply choose to disregard this bit of information. And as a result, they are completely ignorant of the needs of their skin.

You see, knowing your skin type is 90% of skin care. So its really sad when people neglect this.

Now lets look at mistake #2 which is randomly purchasing products.

It is so easy to tell if someone is constantly choosing the wrong products for their skin. Simply look at his or her bedroom or bathroom. You can always find a collection of once-used cosmetics.

You see, many of us let the prices of skin care products determine our choices. And I think we believe that the more we pay, the better the quality.

Others buy based on the quality and frequency of cable TV ads. That is, the more colorful and popular the ad, the better the product must be.

But the act of sharing products amongst friend is the worst of all. And I cant seem to understand why some of us think that if a product worked for a friend, it should work for them too.

All these are false reasons for selecting products. And yet still people do these things.

What does the cost products have to do with our skins needs? And what if the less familiar products are better for our skin type? Then well be getting it all wrong, wont we?

And everyone does not have the same skin type. So a product that works best for your friend can actually injure your skin. So the lesson is your skin is unique and it should be treated as such.

With that said, lets look at the 3rd point. Be careful of whom you take skin care advice from.

Why do I say that? Well there are lots of people out there who have zero skin care IQ.

In other words they are clueless when it comes to solving skin care problems. And yet still, they love giving advice.

So heres how to tell if a person really knows what he/she knows what they are talking about. He/she should insist that you have a skin analysis first to determine your type of skin. Then recommend treatment or products that will work with your skin type.

Skin care doesnt have to be a difficult task. In fact its quite easy once you know what youre doing.
